Eight to twelve million dogs and cats end up in shelters each year. Millions more go for walks and explore when the door or gate
is accidentally left open. It happens every day in a matter of seconds. AWOLPET.com is here to make sure all of these AWOL (absent without leash)
dogs and cats return home quickly and safely. Pet identification and registration is the best way to protect your pet from becoming lost forever.
AWOLPET.com is available around the clock to help reunite a lost pet with its owner. Here's how we do it.
REGISTERED PETS
Once registered, you will receive a distinctive red square tag that states, "if found, visit awolpet.com to get me home". This tag should be placed with your pet's rabies/license tag securely on the collar.
If your veterinarian is participating in AWOLPET.com's Refer A Pet program, your pet's rabies tag will have this information printed on the back and you will not be sent a red square tag.
These tags should be placed securely on your pet's collar to direct the finder to visit awolpet.com to retrieve the contact information you registered with us. AWOLPET.com discloses pet name, pet description, owner name (unless option to not disclose selected),
contact phone numbers and email address. AWOLPET.com never discloses addresses. Registered daily medication needs will also be disclosed.

PETS FOUND WITHOUT IDENTIFICATION
If a pet is found that doesn't have identification or isn't registered with AWOLPET.com, the finder can list the found pet in the AWOLPET.com Found A Pet database. The listed information is easily searchable
through the Lost A Pet database. To make finding a lost pet easier and alleviate the necessity to review thousands of found pet listings, AWOLPET.com designed special search engines to help a pet owner search
the Found A Pet database quickly and easily. Specifically, a pet owner enters pet characteristic information about his pet and retrieves a list of all found pets that match the entered description. IMPORTANTLY,
A REGISTERED PET WITH IDENTIFICATION HAS A GREATER CHANCE OF RETURNING HOME TO YOU.
